Production Process

Klaf The raw materials, i.e. slunks (ubarim) of cattle, are placed in a bath of lime by religious highly competent workers, and after a process lasting between 10-14 days, they are hung up to dry.

After a period of maturation, the skins are wet again and stretched on special frames, and then buffed till they are the texture of fine silk. In the next stage, they are cut to size and ruled by an experienced Mesartet, every line done by hand leshmo.

Rezzuahs of Tefillin
Here again whole hides of oxen are placed in a bath of lime and chrome by Talmidei Chachim, experts in the rules and halochas of Stam.

After the process is finished, they are painted by hand (the painting leshmo is Holocha Lemoishe Misinai) by avrechim yirei shomayim. When they are dry, the whole hides are cut into strips by hand to the width which the Sofer requires.

Batim of Tefillin
These are manufactured by an associated company under strict supervision of our representatives, from especially thick ox skin (capes). After a lengthy process, the finished Bayit is created - it is then painted black by highly experienced experts and is ready for inserting the parshios.

All the above is carried out under the strict supervision of Harav Hagaon Moishe Shaul Klein  Shlite and his team of supervisors, who accompany the whole production process till its completion
